  • SafeWork NSW Incident Alert!

    SafeWork NSW are investigating an incident that occurred on Saturday in Miranda. A worker using a remote control to operate a crane has stepped backward and fallen three metres through an open penetration, landing on his back. The worker was taken to hospital with head and spinal injuries, and released the next day. 

    Falling from a height is the number one cause of death and permanent disability in the formwork industry.

  • FIA get serious in planning for the future

    The Board of the Formwork Industry Association recently met with Michael Sugg of Advance Association Management (AAM) who conducted a series of workshops to assist FIA in it's strategic planning.

    FIA are delighted to report the outcomes included a road map for the launch of the Association, member value proposition, governance outlines and the organisation's Vision and Mission.

  • Safety within the formwork industry

    FIA are focused on safety within the formwork industry. 

    FIA continue to collaborate with SafeWork NSW and the construction industry. On 22nd February 2018, FIA Board members attended a meeting held at SafeWork NSW, as a joint journey for a safer formwork industry. We discussed industry safety and draft position papers on formwork design & sign offs. 


    FIA are preparing industry responses to these draft position papers on formwork design and sign off. FIA are collecting industry comments from the formwork industry in regards to their views on these draft position papers. If you want FIA represent your views, please forward an email with your comments.
