FIA safety WORKSHOP Series.

How are you managing your hazardous manual tasks?
Are you across the legislative requirements to ensure your workers are safe?

Injuries can occur from a number of different manual tasks and they can have long-term, costly impacts on your workers and your business. There are specific laws about managing hazardous manual tasks, as well as a code of practice.

You need to think about everything that could lead to musculoskeletal disorders, or sprains and strains to protect your workforce. Failure to do so could result in injury, a loss of productivity and SafeWork NSW compliance action.

Together with SafeWork NSW we invite you to a free workshop (only 15 places availabe) to help Formwork and Construction employers better manage hazardous manual tasks using the PErforM (Participative Ergonomics for Manual Tasks) program.

PErforM is a simple manual task risk management program based on participative ergonomics, an internationally recommended approach for reducing musculoskeletal disorders.

It provides a framework to help employers engage with workers at all levels to identify, assess and control hazardous manual task risks within their workplace and can be used across various industries.

In this workshop, we cover off legislative requirements, the principles behind effectively managing hazardous manual tasks and how the PErforM program assists with this. PErforM is not a training program for workers, but more so a program that decision makers within a business should attend.

The workshop will develop your skills so that you:

  • understand the PErforM program and participative ergonomics
  • understand the resources required to implement PErforM in your workplace
  • can deliver PErforM training
  • can facilitate a manual tasks risk assessment using PErforM
  • can facilitate the management of manual tasks risks through developing and implementing effective controls
  • understand the importance of review and evaluation.

You will also be able to practice using the PErforM risk assessment tool.

This workshop is designed for people who:

  • will be implementing the PErforM program
  • occupy a position with access to management and workers
  • have good communication and motivational skills
  • have knowledge of risk management and hazardous manual tasks
  • preferably have experience in training and facilitation.

You will leave this session with the tools and knowledge to go back to your workplace and fix your specific hazardous manual task issues.
