More and more Australians who have decided not to be vaccinated against COVID-19 will, in coming months, be denied access to various premises and services. In addition, many vaccinated workers will be concerned at the prospect of having to work alongside unvaccinated colleagues. This will create situations in which individuals exhibit emotional responses which may, sadly, include verbal abuse or physical violence.

Attempting to reduce the risk of occupational violence is a big challenge for employers but a challenge that must be embraced.
